Copyright Policy
World Radio Policy
World Radio does not record, store, host or rebroadcast any audio. The streams used are as the streaming provider publishes. Station names, logos and descriptions are shown to identify each station, and they remain the property of their owners and can be changed or removed on request.
We respect the rights of copyright owners and expect the same of everyone who uses the site in accordance with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act of 1998, the text of which may be found on the U.S. Copyright Office website at http://www.copyright.gov/legislation/dmca.pdf. If you believe our site or any of our mobile applications infringes your copyright, we will respond expeditiously to claims reported.
If you are a copyright owner, or are authorized to act on behalf of one, or authorized to act under any exclusive right under copyright, please report to the email listed below and we can:
- remove a station listing, or the link to its stream;
- remove or replace a logo, image, name or description shown on a station page;
- correct information about a station that you own or run.
Because the audio itself is not on our servers, we cannot change what a station broadcasts. If your complaint is about the content of a broadcast, please also contact the station or its streaming provider directly; removing our link does not take the stream itself off the internet.
Sending a copyright notice
Email your notice to daveymugo@gmail.com with “Copyright notice” in the subject line. So that we can act on it, the notice should include:
- your full name, and the name of the person or organisation you act for if it is not you;
- a description of the copyrighted work you believe is being infringed;
- the exact address (URL) of each page on World Radio where the material appears, and what on that page you object to;
- your postal address, telephone number and email address;
- a statement that you believe in good faith that the use complained of is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent or the law;
- a statement that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or are authorised to act on the owner's behalf;
- your physical or electronic signature (typing your full name is enough for an email).
A notice that leaves out these details may take longer to process, or we may have to ask you for more information before we can act.
What happens next
We review every complete notice. Where it is valid, we remove or disable access to the material identified, normally within a few working days, and reply to let you know what we did.
Please note that pages may stay visible in search engines or in your browser's cache for a short time after we remove them.
Counter-notice
If material you submitted or own was removed and you believe that was a mistake — for example because you own the station or have permission to stream it — you may send a counter-notice to the same address. It should include:
- your full name, postal address, telephone number and email address;
- the material that was removed and the address where it appeared before removal;
- a statement, made in good faith, that you believe the material was removed by mistake or because it was misidentified;
- your consent to the jurisdiction of the courts of the place where you live, and agreement to accept service of legal process from the person who sent the original notice;
- your physical or electronic signature.
We will pass a valid counter-notice to the person who sent the original notice. If they do not tell us within 10 working days that they have started legal action, we may restore the material.
Repeat infringers
Accounts of users who repeatedly suggest or submit material that infringes copyright may be suspended or closed, at our discretion.
False notices
Please only send a notice if you own the rights concerned or are authorised to act for the owner. Knowingly false notices or counter-notices may make the sender liable for any damage they cause. If you are not sure whether your material is protected, you may wish to seek legal advice first.
